Kyle Williams was practicing a basic punt-return drill on Friday when he fell awkwardly to the ground, clutching his leg and writhing in pain. He was later taken of the field in a cart while covering his face and in tears.

According the the Denver Post, coach Gary Kubiak said Williams suffered an Achilles injury, which Williams later confirmed, via Instagram.
Williams was vying for the starting punt return position and was going up against Jordan Norwood, Solomon Patton, Isaiah Burse and Emmanuel Sanders. The 49ers selected Williams in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
